LT Jeffrey Lawson is the School Resource Officer for Seminole County Middle High School, but also responds to incidents at Seminole County Elementary SChool.

In 1997 the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Seminole County Board of Education placed a uniformed deputy at Seminole County Middle High School as a school resource officer. The program has proved very successful.

The mission for SRO is:

• create and promote a safe environment for both students and faculty
• enforce the state laws, county ordinances, and school regulations
• coordinate and facilitate security for extra curricular activities held by the schools
