The Seminole County Jail houses inmates for Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Donalsonville Police Department, as well as other agencies as needed.

No items may be brought to jail for an imate.  ALL items must be purchased from jail commissary.


Inmate Funds / Commissary

Inmates will be allowed to purchase items off the Commissary. (Candy, snacks, items for personal hygiene, stationary, and clothing)

Each Inmate will receive a receipt for all money in their possession at the time of booking.
This money will be placed on the inmate’s account:
Money may be left for an inmate using the Kiosk machine in the front lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. There is one Kiosk for Commissary and a separate Kiosk for phones.

To be allowed to order from commissary, all inmate’s money must be received before midnight on Monday for that week’s order.

Upon release from the jail, all funds credited to the inmates will be released via credit card. If the inmate is being transferred to another facility, they will receive a check for the balance of their funds.


Inmate Mail, Effective: 08-17-2015

All inmate mail, both send from the jail and received into the jail will be restricted to post card type. No letters will be mailed or received. The only exception will be legal items, which will be handled as prior policy dictates.

The post cards will be available for purchase through the commissary. All mail received on or after 08-17-2015 must comply with this regulation. All incoming cards must have a legible return address, including the sender’s name.

Any funds (money order or cashier’s check) mailed to an inmate must be addressed to: Seminole County Jail — 208 Court Street — Donalsonville, GA 39845. The money order or cashier’s check must clearly state the name of the receiving inmate and sender’s name, and cannot contain any other items such as photos or notes.

The purpose of the funds should be clearly identified as to whether it should go to the inmate’s commissary or phone accounts. If it is not specified, the funds will be placed in the inmate’s commissary account.
