The purpose of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is to investigate crimes in order to arrest and convict perpetrators. An Investigator must analize the information obtained and interrogate the witnesses and suspects to continue an investigation. To reach their objectives, the investigator may also seek the aid of experts in specialized fields, technicians, forensic specialists, etc., and then couples this with their training to bring a case to a successful conclusion. The investigation must be complete in every detail to assure a successful prosecution and conviction when presented in court.
