Duties include:
����������� Routine patrol work, directing traffic, enforcing motor vehicle regulations, answering calls concerning domestic disturbances, fires, auto accidents, robberies and other criminal activities.� At the scene of the crime or accident, conducts preliminary investigations, preserves crime scene, gathers evidence, questions witnesses, etc.� Also makes arrest and transports prisoners.� Serves civil court papers, warrants, and subpoenas.� Employee prepares accurate, legible and concise reports regarding incidents and criminal cases.� Also serves as an officer of the court in guarding prisoners and keeping peace in the courtroom as well as testifying in criminal cases.� Also is called upon to work ball games, parades and other special functions.
����������� The employee has frequent contact with public and requires considerable tact in dealing with the public in trying situations.

While work is performed under the supervision of the Sheriff, a high degree of judgment and reliance must be exercised by employee on an independent basis.

Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be certified under the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Act
- Physically fit
- Of excellent moral character
