Historical note: This landing was once called Hares Landing. Here, rising eerily out of a swamp was a large burial mound created by prehistoric Indians. Amidst out of control vegetation and a thickening fog, many human bones were found, some more than 10,000 years old. Most were quite badly decayed. However, several skeletons were found close together on a bed of charcoal. The area is now under water.

By boat: Mile Marker 7.2 on the right-hand side going upstream.

By vehicle: Just off of State Route 253 (
Spring Creek Road). This landing is not open to vehicles. However, if you like to hike, you can walk down the road about a mile or so, to the landing.

Amenities: none
This access is used mainly by the wildlife management personnel on Lake Seminole . However, if you get caught in a storm, there is a covered boat house in which you can take refuge. There are no launch facilities here. It is isolated and picturesque.
