The Seminole County Jail houses inmates for Seminole County Sheriff's Office and Donalsonville Police Department, as well as other counties as needed.
Each inmate is allowed to receive a package of personal items within the first seventy-two (72) hours of incarceration.
After this time, ALL items must be purchased from jail commissary.
Permitted items are: 3 t- shirts, 3 pairs of socks, 3 pairs underwear / panties, 3 wireless bras
All items MUST be white, new, and in the original packaging.
All inmates may have one hour of visitation per week.
Visitors traveling in excess of 150 miles may request an additional half-hour.
To visit an inmate, you be included on the inmate's visitation list. You must be able to show proof of identification.
MORNING (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM) AFTERNOON (4:00 - 6:00 PM)
Any additional vistitation time must be pre-approved.

VISITATION IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO OTHER JAIL ACTIVITIES.
VISITATION CAN BE TAKEN AWAY AT ANY TIME BECAUSE IT IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT!!!
INMATE FUNDS / COMMISSARY
Inmates will be allowed to purchase items off the Commissary. (Candy, snakes, items for personal hygeine, stationary, and clothing)
Each Inmate will receive a receipt for all money in their possession at the time of booking. This money will be placed on the inmate’s account:
Money may be left for an immate using the Kiosk machine in the front lobby of the Sheriff's Office. There is one Kiosk for Commissary and a seperate Kiosk for phones.
- Money orders or cashiers checks, made out to the inmate, may be sent through the mail. No money orders will be accepted at the jail.
- No personal checks will be accepted.
- To be allowed to order from commissary, all inmate’s money must be received before midnight on Monday for that week's order.
Upon release from the jail, all funds credited to the inmates will be released via credit card. If the inmate is being transferred to another facility, they will receive a check for the balance of their funds.
All inmate mail, both senf from the jail and received into the jail will be restricted to post card type. No letters will be mailed or received. The only exception will be legal items, which will be handled as prior policy dictates.
The post cards will be available for purchase through the commissary. All mail received on or after 08-17-2015 must comply with this regulation. All incoming cards must have a legible return address, including the sender's name.
Any funds (money order or cashier's check) mailed to an inmate must be addressed to: Seminole County Jail -- 208 Court Street -- Donalsonville, GA 39845. The money order or cashier's check must clearly state the name of the receiving inmate and sender's name, and cannot containe any other items such as photos or notes.
The purpose of the funds should be clearly identified as to whether it should go to the inmate's commissary or phone accounts. If it is not specified, the funds will be placed in the inmate's commissary account.
